I swear I’ll loose it.
Ever since bailout rumors started back in December of 08, every marketing department in the country seems to have jumped on the bandwagon. McDonald’s has signs all over for their “Stimulus Plan” of $5 value meals. Domino’s Pizza had their CEO walking down the streets of DC talking about their Bailout (and through the ordeal the ended up with a logistical error causing them to give away 11,000 pizzas due to a coupon they never intended to be redeemed). And here in Orlando I’ve seen the Daytona Beach ads with simple white text on a black screen reading “We’ve got your economic stimulus plan right here” – cut to a family on the beach with the Daytona logo.
Um… huh?
It’s not even close to creative anymore. And I swear that I (and others I know) will actually turn tail and run from companies doing it. It’s just leaving a very poor impression this late into the whole ordeal. Go back to the drawing board and scrap up something new and clever… please.
