Here are some photos and a video from my phone at the concert Friday night. We had field tickets and started really close to the stage. Muse was fun and the crowd wasn’t too bad, but once U2 was on, it got crazy. We stuck it out for 5 songs, but the heat, smell, and cocaine users next to us were a little much to handle. So we moved back a bit to the center of the field which had a great view also.
This was Beth’s 5th show and my 1st. I was severely impressed with the stage setup. The lighting and video range it had was incredible. Apparently it consists of 190 tons of steel, 70 tons of AV equipment, and a $750,000 a day operating budget. And not only that, but because it takes 3.5 days to load out once a show is over, they had to commission three of them to leapfrog cities on the tour route. It was an awesome experience. The 3 hour / 2 mile search for a taxi afterward is another story:)
I could definitely go for one of these in my back yard. The OfficePOD is a European concept (naturally) based out of London. The pod allows it’s proud owner to add office space to their home without reducing their domestic square footage. Not even a permit is needed to install one. Something tells me they won’t be available in Orlando anytime soon – what with all the hurricane resistant measures that would have to be added.
